MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police say they found a loaded assault-style rifle in a vehicle that fled the scene of a home invasion.
Around 5 a.m. Thursday, witnesses say several armed men kicked in the door of a home in the 100 block of East Forest Avenue. A 36-year-old man and his 53-year-old mother inside were not hurt.
The victims called Muskegon Police with a description of a Silver Chevrolet Equinox. Officers pulled over the suspects nearby at Webster Avenue and First Street and arrested three men.
Two of the suspects, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old man are from Wyoming, while the third subject is a 19-year-old man from Grand Rapids.
Police were able to locate evidence both at the scene and in the getaway vehicle that connected the trio to the home invasion. The suspects are lodged in the Muskegon County Jail on various felony charges. Their names will be released following arraignment.
