LANSING, Mich. (WZZM) - General Motors is recalling 370 thousand vehicles because of a possible fire risk. It will inform owners of 2014 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras of the recall starting January 16th.
Software in the vehicles could cause exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. GM says eight fires have been reported because of the problem. No one was injured in the fires but one garage was damaged.
The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free.
