GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Grand Rapids Police say that the 19-year-old shot by an officer Tuesday afternoon is recovering.
Police tell WZZM 13's Stacia Kalinoski that James Spivey is making a good recovery.
Spivey was shot Tuesday afternoon after threatening responding officers with a replica handgun powered by a CO2 cartridge, according to Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk. There was no orange safety tip on the barrel tip. Click here for that story: http://on.wzzm.com/1b3spYW
Police also tell us that they would be surprised if charges are filed against Spivey.
We'll have more on this story throughout the day on WZZM13.com and tonight at 6pm.
