MANISTEE, Mich. (AP/WZZM) - A charge in Manistee County against the wife of a man accused of fatally shooting a Michigan state trooper during a traffic stop has been dropped.

Sarah Knysz was facing a charge of unlawful driving away of a vehicle following the Sept. 9 death of Trooper Paul Butterfield II.

Knysz had already pleaded guilty to being an accessory to murder and was sentenced to two to five years in prison in Mason County.  She had assisted in helping her husband, Eric Knysz, escape after allegedly killing Butterfield.
