DETROIT, Mich. (WZZM) - Ford Motor Company is planning a big birthday party this summer. The celebration will celebrate the Mustang turning 50.
In 1964 when it first appeared in public at the World's Fair in New York, it cost around $2,500.
The all new 2015 Mustang is one of many big attractions at the North American International Auto Show. Dave Pericak, the chief engineer on the Mustang, says the car has undergone an extensive design change both on the inside and outside. There are also changes under the hood of the all new Mustang.
Ford is planning two events that run simultaneously from April 16th to the 20th. One party is in Las Vegas and the other in Concord North Carolina.
