HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a second person in connection with the murder of a Park Township man, who was found beaten and frozen next to his running vehicle.

Jose Hernandez' body was found January 6 near the Amberwood Apartments on 152nd Avenue in Park Township. Detectives believe Hernandez. 38, was ambushed and clubbed to death as he was leaving for his third shift manufacturing job. He body was found nearly 24 hours later.

Anthony Alfredo Delagarza, 19, was arrested Thursday for lying to investigators about Hernandez' death. Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies say Delagarza was an acquaintance of Hernandez and his ex-girlfriend, Maryann Castorena. Delagarza is not charged with murder at this time and is being held on a $250,000 bond at the Ottawa County Jail.

Meanwhile, Hernandez' ex-girlfriend, Maryann Castorena is also accused of lying to police during the murder investigation.

The judge said when he originally set bond at $1 million, he believed murder charges against Castorena were imminent. On Friday, the judge decided to reduce bond to $75,000.

Prosecutors claimed Castorena was a flight risk, because she had traveled to several states and even Mexico in the past year. However, her attorney argued that part of her trip had to do with getting married, as well as having medical procedures done.

"There was some concern that because she had been traveling this past year that meant she was not essentially grounded here in Michigan, however as I explained she was traveling for a specific purpose and not simply planning on moving out of state," says Robert Alvarez, Castorena's attorney.

Alvarez also told the court that Castorena's fibromyalgia has flared up while in jail and she needed medication for it.  He hopes to have her bond out of jail this weekend.  If that happens, the judge ordered Castorena to be placed under house arrest.

Castorena's family was also in the courtroom but did not want to comment. Her preliminary hearing should happen in three weeks.
