JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Deputies in Ottawa County found nothing intentional about a man shooting his wife, but that doesn't mean he won't face charges.
The shooting happened Saturday afternoon near 16th Avenue and Bryon Road in Jamestown Township. Investigators say the man was trying to shoot a rabbit and did not see his wife when she walked into the line of fire.
The 24-year-old Zeeland Township woman was shot in the head and transported by AeroMed to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, where she is expected to recover.
Investigators say evidence at the scene supported the stories the couple separately told them. Now they will look into whether the husband used his gun carelessly or recklessly.
