GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for West Michigan, effective from 1 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
The storm will produce heavy snow, wind gusts of 40 mph, low visibility, and dangerously low wind chills of 20-30 degrees below.
The 13 On Target Weather team says strong winds will develop Friday morning through Friday night, creating near-blizzard conditions. Winds could gust to 40 mph and whiteout conditions are possible after sunset Friday.
Snowfall of six inches is possible along the lakeshore and three inches elsewhere, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday, near-blizzard-like conditions will continue with morning snowfall before giving way to partly cloudy skies with afternoon snow showers. More snow is likely late Saturday night.
