GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) - A weekend of high winds sent the plowed snow right back onto the roads. Knee-high drifts proved too strong for the backs of many this weekend.
WZZM 13 caught up with East Beltline Towing in Grand Rapids. Paul Hessler has been tugging cars left and right since Friday afternoon.
"It's such a heavy snow you can't go anywhere. Our trucks are getting stuck. People are getting stuck in their driveways, small side roads." he said
"The calls just starting piling in," said owner Jay VanderWoude of Friday. "Especially 5:30 p.m. with people trying to go home.
He says it was a combination of people driving too fast in the poor visibility, and the drifting snow. A perfect recipe for ending up in the ditch.
