GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Police say an all-wheel drive vehicle helped them catch a man who broke into a southeast Grand Rapids church.

They say two officers were assigned one of the department's new Ford Explorer patrol vehicles because of poor road conditions on side streets.

They spotted a man standing between parked vehicles near the back of the parking lot at Madison Square CRC, near Garden St. and Prospect Ave. SE. Investigators found he had just broken into the church.

The 19-year-old man is facing break-in charges, and is also being held for a Wyoming home invasion.
