HOLLAND TOWNSHP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Heavy snow caused a roof to collapse at a Holland Township business on Monday, according to firefighters on the scene.

It happened at around 10:30 a.m. at the Stow Company on Windquest Drive. Firefighters say the weight of about four feet of snow caused part of the roof to collapse above the break room.

The building was evacuated shortly after the incident. Firefighters also investigated a gas leak that was likely connected to the roof collapse.

"Nobody was inside the break room at the time of the collapse, although there was a smell of gas odor outside and inside the building," said says Captain Mike Veldheer, Holland Township Fire Department. "After investigating we did find a pipe that could be suspect to have leaked gas into the area. We're capping that off as the operation goes, and we are monitoring air conditions."

No one was injured in the incident. Firefighters say the roof collapse also damaged the sprinkler system and caused water to leak into some of the office area.
