GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The CEO and 13 employees of Kentwood Pharmacy face more federal charges after being accused of mislabeling drugs returned from care facilities.
According to U.S. Attorney Patrick Miles, the charges stem from the fact that the pharmacy allegedly was misbranding drugs, they were also defrauding Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan by receiving payments for the drugs. The indictment alleges that Kentwood Pharmacy received over $70 million in payments.
Some of the employees also face conspiracy charges, as well as the fraud and money laundering.
